Setup/General

How to download the App?
To use the TP25 wireless Bluetooth features, first download the FREE ThermoPro BBQ application from either the App
Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play Store (for Android devices). Search for “ThermoPro BBQ”. You may also find the links on the ThermoPro BBQ webpage at www.buythermopro.com. After the phone is successfully installed, the app icon should be displayed on your phone.”

How can I pair my smartphone with the meat thermometer?
1. Turn on the thermometer transmitter by pressing the button once on the back of the transmitter unit. The Bluetooth icon will be flashing in the top right of the transmitter display.
2. Open the ThermoPro BBQ APP and press Start. Wait a moment while the thermometer pairs to your smartphone. Once pairing is complete, the Bluetooth icon on the thermometer transmitter display will stop flashing and the APP will proceed to the main page which shows the temperatures measured by the probes.

What phone models are compatible with this meat thermometer?

• iPhone and iPad apps for iOS 10.9 and above.
• Android app for versions 4.4 and above.
• Compatible with devices running Bluetooth 4.0 technology and above.

My phone has Bluetooth, why can’t I connect to the meat thermometer?
Press and hold the “CF/ON/OFF” button for 3 seconds to turn on Bluetooth, the symbol will begin to flash, open the ThermoPro BBQ app and press “start” to pair the thermometer with your phone.
If you’re still unable to pair the device, please check if the device is running below Bluetooth® 4.0.

Can I connect one phone with multiple meat thermometer or one meat thermometer with multiple phones?
No. You can only connect the meat thermometer with one phone.

When the meat thermometer and app are paired successfully, can I close the app during cooking/grilling?
Do not close the ThermoPro BBQ app, simply minimize to ensure the alarm will alert you when the temperature reaches the target temperature.

If the meat thermometer has already been paired with the app, do I need to re-pair the when I next use the meat thermometer?
No. If you’ve paired the meat thermometer with the app before, it will automatically connect when you open the app and turn on Bluetooth on the meat thermometer.

Why is the thermometer’s Bluetooth turned off?
When the thermometer is powered on, the Bluetooth symbol will flash for 10 minutes while it awaits pairing, then the Bluetooth will power off and enter low power mode. If the temperature of is lower than 50°C for an hour after Bluetooth is connected successfully, Bluetooth will be turned off automatically to enter low power mode.

When the alarm goes off, does the meat thermometer beep too or just the app?
When the alarm goes off, both meat thermometer and app will beep.

Why is an alarm still going off on my meat thermometer even if the ThermoPro BBQ app is not connected to the meat thermometer?
When a meat thermometer is successfully connected to the ThermoPro BBQ app, the meat thermometer will receive the target temperature from the app and save it, even if you exit the app without turning off the meat thermometer, the alarm will go off once the temperature reaches the target temperature. To stop the alarm, press the light button on the front of the meat thermometer. To clear the target temperature from the meat thermometer, turn off the meat thermometer and turn it on again.

Why does my meat thermometer or app displays “LLL” and “HHH” and how do I fix it?
If the temperature is below 14°F (-10°C) or above 572°F (300°C) LLL or HHH will show on the screen. If you’re not below or above this range, you can try re-inserting the probe or re-inserting the batteries to fix this issue. If you’ve tried this and the reading is still off, please contact us, as the probe may be damaged.

Is the meat thermometer waterproof?
It’s rainproof

Can these probes be used to monitor ambient temperatures?
Yes. Our probes can be used to monitor both meat and ambient temperatures.

Can I connect this meat thermometer to Alexa?
No. Alexa is not currently supported but could in future updates.

Charging

How to charge the device?
Connect the USB end of the charging cable to a 5V output power adapter, example: iPhone charger and then connect the other end to your thermometer. If done correctly, a charging indicator will display on the LCD screen of the meat thermometer. The battery symbol will be displayed on the LCD screen even when the device is turn off.

Can I charge the meat thermometer if it’s turned off?
Yes. You can charge the meat thermometer when it’s turned off and a charging indicator will display on the LCD screen.

How long does it take to charge the meat thermometer?
It takes 3-4 hours to fully charge the meat thermometer.

Why is my meat thermometer not charging?
Most likely the cause is because you’re using a power adapter with an output higher than 6.5V. If you’re still having problems, please contact us.

How long is the meat thermometer battery life?
The battery life is 8 months off 1 full charge.

Connectivity and Range

How much remote range should I expect?
The remote range is 500 ft/ 166 yards.

If I go out of range, how do I reconnect the ThermoPro BBQ App to the meat thermometer?
The signal will reconnect automatically your phone is within 500 ft / 166 yards of the meat thermometer.

Will I receive an alarm when I get out of range from the thermometer?
You will receive an alarm and notification on the phone when you get out of range from the thermometer

What are the factors that will impact the Bluetooth range?
Range may be reduced by the electromagnetism, wall interference, rainy or foggy weather, Bluetooth version and signal strength.

What will my phone receive when the meat reaches the target temperature?
If you have Alarm enabled in “Settings”, you will receive an alarm and a phone notification.

How do I set a pre-alarm to be alerted before the meat is ready?
Please select “Temp Pre-Alarm” in Settings of the app. To enable “Temp Pre-Alarm, from the main app screen, press the “menu” button in the top left corner, then press “Settings” and then select your preferred “Temp Pre-Alarm”.

Will the app give an alarm if my ambient temperatures go above or below the temps I set?
Yes. If you have Alarm enabled in “Settings”, you will receive an alarm. To enable alarm, from the main app screen, press the “Menu” button in the top left corner, then press “Settings”, and then press the “ON/OFF” button beside “Alarm” to enable/disable the alarm.

How do I change temperatures for a preset profile like Rare Beef?
To change a temperature for a preset profile, press a current profile selection then press a preset profile you wish to alter and press the edit (symbol) in the top right corner. Adjust the preset profile as you wish and press “Save”. If you’d like to use your custom profile, press your new custom profile and then press “Set”.

How do I create a custom temperature profile?
From the main app screen, press a current profile, then press the (+) and select the type of profile you’d like to create either Target Temp. or Range Temp. Name your new custom profile and enter the temperatures, then press Save. If you’d like to use your custom profile, press your new custom profile and then press “Set”.

How do I set a timer?
From the main app screen, press the Timer symbol on the one of the probes where you wish to have a timer. Scroll to set the hour(s), minute(s) and second(s), add a note if you wish and then press “Start” to start the timer. If you wish to reset the timer, press reset. Press the < in the top left corner to go back to the main app screen.

Will the temperature graph be cleared when I close the app?
The app will clear the last temperature graph.

What are the two icons in the top right corner of the app?
The battery icon represents the battery life of the meat thermometer and the connection signal represents the Bluetooth signal strength.

How can I change the temperature units? (F / C)
1. Press and hold the “CF/ON/OFF” button on the thermometer transmitter for 3 seconds to switch temperature units.
2. From the main app screen, press the “Menu” button in the top left corner, then press “Settings”, and then press the “C/F” button beside “Temperature Unit” to switch between C/F.

How can I disconnect/unpair my meat thermometer from the app?
You can disconnect/unpair the meat thermometer from the app by pressing the trashcan icon within “Settings".

Cooking with TP25

The thermometer said my meat was ready, but it wasn’t the doneness I was looking for.
Most issues with incorrect doneness are related to probe placement. Always ensure the probe tip is in the thickest part of the meat.

Can I use my meat thermometer for cooking for food other than meat?
Yes, absolutely!

Can I use my meat thermometer as a deep fry / candy thermometer?
Yes. It can be used but do not submerge the probe past the point where the cable meets the probe.

Can I use my meat thermometer in the microwave?
No. You can’t use your meat thermometer in the microwave.
